Second cycle degree graduate will be:

* able to acquire, work out and convey to others significant knowledge by electronic instruments, particularly in the bioinformatics field;
* able to carry out genomics and proteomics analyses even with the aim to identify novel drug targets;
* able to use interdisciplinary knowledge in the biochemical, molecular -biological and pharmaco-toxicological field to manage and solve complex scientific problems related to the study, discovery and development of novel drugs and biotechnological tools for a correct diagnosis even for industrial purposes;
* able to employ genetic manipulation techniques of organisms and microorganisms;
* able to purify and analyze biological macromolecules;
* able to work out biological techniques to make vectors for DNA and protein expression and transfer, nano-biomaterials and molecular biosensors;
* able to identify and design novel compounds towards a specific molecular target by using computational techniques of molecular simulation
* able to employ methods of metagenomics and transciptomics analyses to identify novel microbic metabolites useful in the pharmaceutical field
* able to employ spectrometry and spectroscopy techniques for the structural analysis of biotechnological drugs and of complex biological systems.
* possess skills to analyse bio-drugs in terms of appearance and chemical, biological, bio-physical and pharmaco-toxicological aspects.

The ability to apply the knowledge is acquired through the wide-ranging experience gained in single-place learning laboratories and during the production of the dissertation in a research laboratory.

Assessment takes the form of the production of written assignments and the following discussion of laboratory experiences, and the experiences gained during the production of the dissertation and during graduation.
