Location of University of Bologna

The specific objective of the 2nd cycle degree programme in Clinical Psychology is to provide:

* updated knowledge of the main explanatory theories of normal psychological functioning and of the main forms of psychopathological disorders;
* knowledge and ability to administer and interpret the main clinimetrical assessment tools (clinical interviews, questionnaires, inventories, rating scales);
* knowledge of the psychological-clinical intervention techniques, in terms of therapeutic indications, effectiveness studies, applicability to different therapy contexts,
* capacity to carry out evaluation interviews and psychological-clinical support and to draw-up clinical reports which are appropriate for communication with colleagues and other professionals (e.g. social workers, psychiatrists, etc);
* knowledge of the research methods of clinical psychology;
* capacity of critical reading and production of scientific texts.

The learning course, through clinical reasoning, aims to provide professional skills and promote skills for psychological-clinical practice centred on the individual, the family and the socio-relational context. The teaching is based on the integration of lectures of each course units and the interactive and practical learning/training tools (role-playing, discussion of clinical cases, simulations, traineeships, workshops).

First Year

Attività formative a scelta dello studente (16 CFU)
The acquisition of 8 elective credits is provided for respectively during the first and second year; one or more course units from among those annually identified by the Degree Programme of this 2nd cycle degree programme or another Faculty 2nd cycle degree programme may be indicated as course units independently chosen by the student. These course units are considered to be coherent with the learning project. Should students wish to take an examination on a subject not included among those listed a request must be presented to the Degree Programme Board that will assess the coherence of the choice with the learning outcomes of the Degree Programme.

Requirements

* Laurea (First cycle degree/Bachelor - 180 ECTS) obtained at any University
or, alternatively,
* a post-secondary qualification obtained in a non-university Higher Education Institute allowing for the continuation of the university studies in the subsequent level, but provided that the secondary school diploma was attained after at least a 12-year education;
