This programme covers a wide-range of areas within wildlife conservation such as the study of habitats, threatened species, Field Identification skills, wildlife crime, conservation genetics and welfare issues. It includes the opportunity to gain practical experience in the field as well as exploring cutting edge developments in academic conservation biology research.
Staff are passionately involved in pioneering projects, including welfare assesment for conservation and the Scottish Wildlife Project, and this has helped lead the development of Wildlife Forensics as an academic subject area.
Students will study Habitat Perspectives in Wildlife Conservation with field based work. Students will also have the opportunity to obtain essential Field Identification Skills. A mini-conference gives insight into the fields of employment in this area.

Assessment
The coursework assessment may focus on laboratory reports, case studies, essays or data manipulation exercises.
