The Immigration Law LLM provides an advanced academic environment for studying legal issues relating to immigration and examining immigration law in its theoretical, operational, social and political context. Matters considered will include, for example, the rules relating to entry and habitation within the UK; immigration and freedom of movement within the European Union; asylum and immigration appeals and remedies; and refugees.
On completion of the programme, you will have advanced your knowledge and understanding, and enhanced your appreciation, of a range of issues of contemporary importance relating to immigration.
You take two core modules; two option modules from an extensive list; plus legal research theory and dissertation modules.
Our LLM courses are accredited by the Solicitors Regulation Authority for CPD purposes. On successful graduation, students on the Immigration Law LLM are also automatically eligible for membership of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
You take four modules (at least two of which must be selected from the 'core modules' list) plus legal research theory and dissertation modules.
Please note that this is an indicative list of modules and is not intended as a definitive list.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
