The Master’s Programme in Fashion Marketing is a response to the growing demands of the fashion industry for creative and skilled people. The challenges for fashion companies involve not only dealing with increased global competition but also with issues of sustainability and C SR (Corporate Social Responsibility) as well as active consumers. The programme will give you knowledge about these challenges and competence to work with fashion marketing, brand management and consumer behavior as well as the planning and performing of marketing activities.
The programme provides knowledge about fashion marketing both in theory and in applications. It will enable you to analyse problems, manage brand ownership, or to design marketing programmes in the fashion and apparel sector based on knowledge of consumer trends, attitudes and behaviour. Sustainability aspects run like a thread through the programme.
Increased competition and globalisation requires new ways of marketing, communication and distribution for all enterprises. It also requires skills to work into disiplinary.
After completing the programme you will be well prepared to work in various responsible positions in fashion trade.
Upon graduation, you will have the ability to:
* demonstrate and apply broad knowledge of textile and fashion processes, methods and applications in management perspective, in particular in-depth knowledge of the textile and fashion value chain, with emphasis on brand management, consumer insight, retail marketing and communication;
* critically and systematically gather literature and theory within the textile and fashion management area;
* analyse and find solutions to organisational issues on fashion flows, marketing and branding;
* integrate and apply knowledge in the field for research and development purposes and other skilled activities
* develop and design textile and fashion processes and systems with regard to human conditions and needs and society’s objectives for economically, socially and ecologically sustainable development;
* participate in teamwork and cooperate in groups of different composition
The curriculum is about understanding conditions and opportunities for stakeholders in the fashion sector, and how they can adapt to changes in the world market by knowledgeable approaches. There is a particular focus on branding, fashion marketing and fashion communication, where these three areas form a red thread through this programme. The consumer/brand relationship and retailing concepts are addressed in depth.

* Visual communication, related to fashion and textile 7.5 ECTS
* Art of Business, 7.5 ECTS
* Final thesis in Fashion Management 15 ECTS

The following language tests and minimum scores are accepted by University of Borås as proof of English language proficiency:
IELTS
* IELTS (academic modules), an overall mark of 6.5 and no section below 5.5
You should send a copy of your IELTS test results to University Studies in Sweden, FE1, SE-833 83, Stroemsund, SWEDEN. They will verify your results online.
TOEFL
* TOEFL (paper based): Score of 4.5 (scale 1-6) in written test and a total score of 575
* TOEFL (Internet based): Score of 20 (scale 0-30) in written test and a total score of 90
All TOEFL tests must be sent straight from Educational Testing Service (ETS). The institution code of University Studies in Sweden is Sweden 9520. You must provide this code in order for your results to be reported to University Studies.

(Cambridge ESOL) If you have one of the following certificates or diploma you fulfil the English proficiency requirements

2. English proficiency from upper secondary/high school
If you have an upper secondary school exam/high school degree from any of the following countries, you might fulfil the English proficiency requirements:

3. English proficiency from previous university studies
Students with a Bachelor's degree from a internationally recognised university where English is the only language of instruction, in accordance with the recommendations in the latest edition of WHED´s International Handbook of Universities.
Students with a Bachelor's degree (equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen) where English is the main subject.
Students with a Bachelor's degree (equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen) in Engineering, Computer Science, Medicine, Pharmacy, Science or Technology from India or Pakistan.
Students with 30 higher education (HE) credits from a Nordic country where the language of instruction of the course is English.
Students with a formal transcript or degree certificate where it is clearly stated that the language of instruction was English. Other documentation regarding language of instruction will not be accepted.
