The Postgraduate Certificate programme comprises of two modules that are credit rated. Each taught module offers 30 credits. On successful completion of two masters level modules of 30 credits each it is possible for the 60 credits to be incorporated into the MSc in Advanced Practice programme.
Facilitating Learning and Teaching
Facilitating Learning and Teaching focuses on evidence based approaches to facilitating learning, teaching, inter professional learning and quality assurance in higher education and clinical practice. This module is primarily for nursing and midwifery practitioners but could be accessed by other health care practitioners also.
This Masters level module is intended to provide an opportunity for health professionals to gain knowledge and experience of blended learning and teaching within higher education and practice settings in order that they can explore current research and theory underpinning the educational process and apply this in their context of practice for the benefit of students. Students will be required to plan and implement various teaching and facilitated learning strategies and they will be actively encouraged to utilise contemporary technology enhanced learning approaches into their sessions.
Additionally, for those nurses and midwives wishing to record this qualification with the NMC, this module will include 180 hours of associated practice which, when combined with Assessment and Evaluation, will provide the required 360 hours of practise. All other students must evidence 100 hours or associated practise.
Assessment and Evaluation
Assessment and Evaluation focuses on assessment, evaluation, change management and academic leadership. This module is primarily for nursing and midwifery practitioners but could be accessed by other health care practitioners also.
This Masters level module is intended to provide an opportunity for nurses and midwives to gain knowledge and experience of applying appropriate assessment and evaluation strategies to their sphere of practice; using the evidence base and policy initiatives to develop practice through change management; and, to explore leadership in academia.
Students will be required to plan and implement assessment and evaluation strategies and lead practice and curriculum development activities.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
Take testApplicants should normally be registered health, social care and relevant professionals and have an Honours degree or 2 years' relevant experience with evidence of further study. Overseas students need to demonstrate a minimum IELTS score of 6.5.
Note: International students pursuing part-time programmes of study are not eligible for Tier 4 General Student) visas and must have alternative leave to remain in the UK if they intend to study at the University in person.
