Special feature of this programme:
The Cardiff Non-Medical Prescribing programme is designed to prepare nurses, midwives, pharmacists and allied health professionals to practise as Independent/Supplementary Prescribers as above and to meet the relevant standards set by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB), and the Health Professions Council (HPC). Furthermore, the programme develops the critical analysis and personal reflection skills of course participants and prepares them for lifelong professional development.

Requirements

The course is suitable for registered nurses, midwives, pharmacists and allied health professionals who wish to be trained as independent/supplementary prescribers. Applicants should usually have a good first degree and a minimum of 2 or 3 years' clinical experience (dependent upon profession) and evidence of further study. Overseas students must demonstrate a minimum IELTS score of 6.5.

Note: International students pursuing part-time programmes of study are not eligible for Tier 4 General Student) visas and must have alternative leave to remain in the UK if they intend to study at the University in person.
