The Masters Programme provides the possibility to specialize within the fields of Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering, in both instances with a strong focus on developing the capability to integrate technology and societal aspects, such as environmental issues, sustainable development and social responsibility.

The Civil Engineering track is devoted to techniques for designing, constructing and maintaining roads, streets, railway track, bridges and tunnels while the Architectural Engineering track is concerned with the engineering design and analysis of buildings with emphasis on the performance on a system level and in a life cycle perspective.

The Programme covers the aspects of Structural Engineering and Bridges, Concrete Structures, Steel Structures, Soil- and Rock Mechanics, Building Technology, Building Materials Engineering and Building Services Engineering.

Career prospects
The Civil and Architectural programme meets a well recognized need for qualified professionals with a holistic view of building. There is a strong call for engineers with the knowledge and ability to design and construct infrastructure, residential housing and workplaces with an optimal technology in terms of economy and environmental impact.

The building sector has a long term impact on the built environment as residential housing and construction in Sweden constitute a significant share of the total flow of energy and materials. Skills and knowledge of energy and environmental issues are therefore paramount to the construction of a sustainable society. We are convinced that the Civil and Architectural Engineering Masters programme will provide its graduates with internationally demanded competence with a great future value.

The student will be well prepared for a professional career as a consultant and in the construction industry as well as at public authorities, such as the Road or Rail Administrations. Furthermore the students will also be able to pursue an academic research career.
