Become acquainted with top-level research and broaden your career horizons while deepening your know-how in Physics!
The new Master’s Programme in Physics of Advanced Materials provides students with a strong education in the physics of materials from the viewpoint of present-day research. The emphasis is on either theoretical/computational or experimental aspects. In particular, the programme focuses on hands-on experience in research in the associated research groups at the Department of Applied Physics and on the campus.
The M.Sc degree obtained within the programme is expected to give the students a solid background for PhD studies in physics, materials science, and other related fields. The degree also opens career opportunities in the industry, most notably in companies involved in the research and development of novel materials.
The studies in the programme consist of six modules, for a total of 120 ECTS credits:
1. A2 Advanced/Intermediate module in Materials (18-22 ECTS)
2. A3 Advanced module in Engineering Physics (18-22 ECTS)
3. C Special module (18-22 ECTS)
4. Methodological principles (9-11 ECTS)
5. Elective studies (credits to obtain the total of 120 ECTS)
6. Master's thesis (30 ECTS)
See further information on the courses and suggested timetable for studies on the programme website.
