These MSc’s will prepare graduates for a management and leadership career in an increasingly globalised and interconnected world focussing on core areas such as strategic thinking, international marketing, organisational behaviour and contemporary issues in management. As part of the programme students will also design, lead and reflect upon a project (or event) attached to a community, charity, or third sector enterprise.

This course is open to applicants with little or no business experience who wish to develop masters level expertise in management and leadership. You will be able to explore the implications of sustainable development and business ethics on management and leadership practices and decisions.

For those students wishing to specialise in hospitality, a themed route through the course has been created. This route aims to contextualise leadership within the hospitality industry, one of the most exciting and dynamic sectors of the Scottish and world economies. It will bring to life leadership theory through stimulating guest speakers, industry visits and some conference attendance, accessing some of the truly visionary leaders in the global industry.

The course will:

· deepen your knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of management and leadership, showing you how to apply them across a variety of sectors and environments;

· help you build a portfolio of skills to meet emerging local and global challenges and show you how to analyse the business environment and develop strategic responses and action plans, and

· enable you to assess the wider interconnections between organisations and their local, national and international contexts, and to develop sustainable, responsible and beneficial relationships with local communities and society.

The course has strong links with a wide range of public, private and third sector organisations. Throughout the course, guests from our network will enhance your experience by providing a practitioners’ perspective. The team also work closely with the Chartered Institute of Management (CMI) to develop opportunities for students to gain additional professional qualifications. The course also draws upon the CMIs extensive professional experience and supporting resources.
