Requirements

Undergraduate achievement

  • A First or Upper Second Class honours degree (or international equivalent) from a recognised university in a subject that includes courses in Economics and Strategy

New graduate

  • MSc Economics and Strategy for Business is designed for new and recent graduates with no more than three years’ full time work experience
  • Candidates with over three years’ work experience should consider the Imperial MBA
  • Please contact the admissions team if you wish to discuss exceptional circumstances.

English language requirement

ALL applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency by meeting one of the following standards:

  • GCSE, IGCSE, GCE ‘O’ Level English or equivalent at grade B
  • Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) at grade B
  • IELTS (academic): A minimum score of 7.0 with a minimum score of 6.5 in writing and speaking
  • TOEFL (internet based): A minimum overall score of 100, with a minimum score of 24 in writing and 24 in speaking.
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) English at grade 6 (either Subsidiary or Higher)
  • Successful completion of the Business School's Pre-Sessional English Course.

Note:

  1. Our English language requirements are applicable to Home, EU and Overseas students.
  2. TOEFL and IELTS scores will only be valid if they are less than two years old on the programme start date.
  3. Our English language requirements are higher than the minimum standard set by Imperial College and waivers will only be considered under exceptional circumstances.
  4. You may submit your online application prior to receiving your IELTS/TOEFL scores.

MSc Economics and Strategy for Business Scholarships

Imperial College Business School is offering a number of £10,000 scholarships across all Master's programmes, in the following categories:

  • Women

Who is eligible?

To qualify for a scholarship you must:

  • Have demonstrated excellent academic performance in your previous degree(s)
  • Have submitted an outstanding application form in full by 5 March 2012
  • Have secured a formal offer of a place on a Master's programme at Imperial College Business School by 2 April 2012.

Please note: We do not accept scholarship applications from students who have not yet been made an offer of a place at Imperial College Business School.
