As concerns about the environment take a more central place in modern life, research in Environmental Biology is of increasing importance and influence to national and international agencies and within the public and private sector.

The Environmental Biology (MRes) provides biologists planning a career in environmental research with essential techniques and quantitative skills that are essential for a career in modern Environmental Biology.

The course is taught jointly by the University of Dundee and St. Andrews University and is also available as a conversion programme for mathematical, physical, chemical and molecular sciences graduates wishing to pursue a career in environmental biology, and for biology graduates planning a career in environmental research.

Furthermore, the course is based upon the internationally recognised and complementary research strengths of the College of Life Sciences, the University of Dundee, the School of Biology and the Centre for Research into ecological and Environmental Modelling at the University of St. Andrews and the Scottish Crop Research Institute.
