Historical Sociology – (M.A.)

The study program is a two-year one and applicants with bachelor degrees may be accepted following written entrance examinations.

Roughly half of the subjects in the curriculum are theoretical; the other half are focused on learning research methods and techniques. The aim of the program is to provide training for specialists with a focus on long-term social processes and trends in relevant research activities. Thematically, it deals with modernization and social change, religious and cultural pluralism, globalization trends and effects, and integrating and disintegrating processes.

Graduates should be able to think about various social phenomena, issues and topics in broader historical and territorial contexts, to build and manage professional projects, collect and evaluate specialized knowledge, analyze data— both quantitative and qualitative— and generate reports, reviews, expert and professional studies.
