* DHPE: four years full-time; up to six years part-time
* MSc (MedSci): 12 months full-time; 36 months part-time (local and distance learning)
* Applications are welcomed from doctors, dentists, nurses, biomedical and psycho-social scientists, veterinary practitioners, or other health professionals, who teach, assess, manage or administer undergraduate or postgraduate students, and wish to extend their evidence-based knowledge and practice.
* The Masters programme adopts an evidence-based approach and will draw on your own professional circumstances and experience. It can be studied either on campus or as distance learning, using fully interactive multimedia software or you can choose to attend on campus.
* On successful completion of the Masters you may have an opportunity to proceed to the professional Doctorate.
The programme is made up of the following courses
* Principles of health-professions education
* Research, management and the individual
* Dissertation (10,000 - 15,000 words)
* Thesis (50,000 words).
The Professional Doctorate in Health-professions Education (DHPE) prepares individuals for roles of leadership in research and senior management in the health-care professions. The programme is appropriate for health-care professionals who are ambitious for an influential role, at a senior level, in the management and delivery of education in either undergraduate or postgraduate phases. This is most appropriate for early or mid-career practitioners who wish to significantly enhance their comprehension of education within a professional context.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
