* MEd: 36 months part-time (distance learning)
* PgDip: 30 months part-time (distance learning)
* PgCert: 12 months part-time (distance learning). Please see the separate listing for the Teaching in Higher Education (PG Cert) which forms the first 60 credits of the MEd/PgDip in Professional Practice in Higher Education.
* This is Scotland’s only distance learning programme in Professional Practice in Higher Education.
* Upon successful completion of the first 60 credits of this programme (the Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education) you will be eligible for professional accreditation with the Higher Education Academy.
* There is a focus on collaborative learning online, drawing on your own experiences and those of your academic colleagues.
The first week of the programme in the first year will be based at the University. The remainder of the programme will be taught online, allowing you to balance your study and work commitments.

* Course 6: Designing higher education research
Year 3
(Course 7 completes the MEd in Professional Practice in Higher Education)
* Course 7: Dissertation in Professional Practice in Higher Education
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
Take testYou must be teaching in higher education during completion of the first year of the MEd programme. This is because the assessed work for the PgCert in Teaching in Higher Education requires you to have your teaching observed by a peer and to evaluate your own teaching practice.
As part of the application you will need to complete a personal statement which requests details of your current teaching commitments.
