Course overview
In parallel with our existing Air Transport MSc, Cranfield University is proud to offer an MSc programme designed for rail accident investigators.
Modelled on our annual accident investigation short courses, which have run since 1977, the MSc programme starts with two intensive three-week modules in Fundamentals of Investigation and Applied Rail Accident Investigation.
These modules involve over 70 presenters from all aspects of accident investigation and feature a range of activities such as investigative interviewing, legal skills, visits which may include London Underground and Network Rail facilities, and several hands-on investigation exercises.
Finally, students are expected to complete a supervised individual research project on a subject of their choice within the rail accident investigation field.
