Computer Engineering is the engineering discipline that deals with the usage and development of software and hardware of computing systems (computers). It covers computers and computing devices from embedded to personal computers, and from mainframes to supercomputers.
Computer engineering is widely considered to be one of the most dynamic fields in terms of market growth. Every year, every person in this world buys at least one product that has been designed by a computer engineer.
The students joining the Computer Engineering Master´s programme will learn the theory and practice of system software, including programming, operating systems, compilers and computer networks.
They will also learn about computer architecture and the implementation and development of computer hardware. The state of the art in design of software tools and methodologies for synthesis, physical design, VLSI, hardware software codesign, systems on chip, testing, and performance analysis will be addressed by the programme as well.
In order to prepare our students to become world-class engineers, we provide them with strong theoretical and practical knowledge. We ensure that our graduates can contribute to the industry, by devoting a large part of the programme to practical software and hardware design experiments and prototyping.
The programme has a duration of two years and starts each year in September. Students are free to schedule the sequence of their courses. For graduation, a total number of 120 credit points (EC) is required. It is recommended that 60 EC are taken each year, and that all compulsory courses are completed in the first year.
The individual study programme consists of the following parts:
The MSc programme is organised by the following laboratories:
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
More informationGenerally students who wish to apply for admission to the MSc Programme in Computer Engineering must hold a BSc degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or have met the standard requirements thereof. Students who hold a bachelor's degree in a related field may apply to the programme but, if admitted, they will be required to follow a specific programme to make up for any deficiencies.
In addition, candidates are expected to have:
