In contemporary society, many of the most challenging issues we face cannot be solved by technology alone. Engineering excellence must be coupled with insight into societal needs and the mastery of project and process management tools.
TU Delft's MSc Programme in Engineering and Policy Analysis (EPA) is an international interdisciplinary programme, designed to provide its graduates with a unique combination of technical, analytical and management skills. Equipped with these skills, graduates can play leading roles at all levels of society, solving complex problems that arise when the interests of public and private parties conflict. Crossing the boundaries of technical and non-technical disciplines, the programme can be said to be situated at the intersection of technology and public policy.
The purpose of the EPA Programme is to provide students not only with the technical skills that you would expect to acquire in a standard engineering curriculum, but also with analytical, modelling, and problem solving skills. The core of the programme consists of policy analysis, systems modelling, economics and management courses. With a strong international orientation, EPA places particular emphasis on intercultural cooperation and project management.
The four main themes in Engineering and Policy Analysis are
The MSc programme Engineering and Policy Analysis (EPA) is a two-year full-time programme taught in English. The academic year starts in early September and continues until July of the following year. The curriculum comprises two years of two semesters each (one semester has two course periods), which adds up to 120 EC*.
The table on the right shows the standard two-year course; the third semester differs for students enrolled in the double degree programme with Harbin Institute of Technology.

• Supply Chain Analysis and Management
EPA is also offered as a double degree programme:
- EPA Double degree (with Harbin Institute of Technology in China)
EPA is also partner in the prestigious Erasmus Mundus programme:
- Erasmus Mundus Master (course on Economics and Management of Network Industries - EMIN programme)
Students can take part in the EPA programme in one of the following ways:
