If you have a degree in any discipline and would like to significantly enhance your career prospects in the wider business practice of accounting and financial management, this International Finance MA course is ideal. It offers a rigorous and challenging programme of study that will provide you with a well-integrated knowledge of financial accounting, finance and investment, and management accounting, together with the ability to relate this to the wider issues of management and corporate strategy.
What will you study?
You will develop your understanding of the purpose and nature of financial accounting and reporting. You will look at the integration of theoretical and conceptual issues within the operational and practical activities of management accounting.
You will also look at the political, economic, social, technological, legal and environmental factors that influence an organisation's social responsibilities and how they integrate with a company's strategic decision-making processes. In addition you will examine the core theories of finance and investment and how they can be used in practical decision-making contexts.

Those wishing to follow the pathway leading to GradICSA through the MA in Corporate Governance must additionally satisfy the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators1 (ICSA) entrance requirements, as specified in their Access and Admissions Policy.
Candidates with non-standard qualifications are welcome to apply, in which case evidence of satisfactory knowledge of relevant foundation subjects through the possession of an appropriate qualification, training, or work experience will be required.
International applicants
Holders of non-UK degrees will be subject to the University´s normal entry procedures for equivalence of qualifications. If English is not your first language you will be required to demonstrate your written and verbal proficiency by achieving a recognised qualification such as:
- IELTS (British Council): overall score of 6.5
- TOEFL iBT: overall score of 90 with minimum 23/30 in Reading/Writing
- TOEFL paper test: minimum score of 570 and TWE of 5
- TOEFL computer test: minimum score of 230 and TWE of 5
Those with lower scores will normally be required to complete a pre-sessional English course.
