Contents

In order to master the challenges of management in the healthcare sector, it is important, firstly, to understand the general principles of management.

Courses in the autumn term begin your journey from these general principles and progress towards an increasing focus on healthcare in the spring term.

In the summer term, you will consolidate and apply your understanding of the material so far, choosing specific aspects to pursue in greater depth, as you participate in a Business Plan Competition.

Teaching Methods We use a variety of teaching methods to address learning styles and course needs. This means you can expect a mixture of lectures, seminars, case studies, problem-based learning, and syndicate group discussions. The result is a rich learning experience where you can benefit from courses that are relevant, practical and up-to-date.

Assessment Each core course in the autumn and spring terms is assessed through a combination of:

* A written examination
* An individual piece of work (report, essay, multiple choice test, case study or critical appraisal of published literature) and/or
* A piece of group work (essay, report, presentation or critical appraisal of published literature).

The courses taken in the summer term are assessed through coursework alone.
