If you want a career in Human Resource Management (HRM) or have recently entered an HR or line management role, this course is designed to give you the up-to-date knowledge, skills and understanding you need for effective people management in the workplace.

The University of Glamorgan’s Business School has been awarded accredited centre status by The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). This status acknowledges the contents of our HRM courses and our ability to provide the knowledge that underpins the requirements of CIPD membership.

The Glamorgan Business School also has close links with organisations in the region, as well as local branches of the CIPD, which all contribute to the strong vocational emphasis of this course.

How You Will Study
The MSc Human Resources Management involves two main patterns of study, part-time or full-time:

Part-time – Stage One and Stage Two: You will spend around six hours per week in classes on Wednesday afternoons/evenings.

Full-time – Stage One and Stage Two: You will spend approximately 18 hours per week in classes. Learning will also take place through private study, directed learning and further activity in the workplace.

Full-time and Part-time – Stage Three: You will focus most of your attention on a specific area of HRM interest through investigation by personal research. There will be at least one assessed assignment and/or exam in each of the taught modules.

CIPD Graduate Members – MSc HRM Fast Track

If you are already a Graduate member of CIPD, you can join the MSc HRM Fast Track and gain exemptions from over half the course. The Fast Track can be completed in either six or 12 months and is delivered through a series of weekend workshops and covers the following modules:

* Research and Developments in HRM
* HRM Research Report

IELTS

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

Requirements

A 2:2 minimum Honours degree or an equivalent qualification or, in exceptional circumstances, three years’ or more significant managerial experience.

Holders of CIPD Graduate Membership or postgraduate qualifications in either human resource management or general management, may be entitled to exemptions.

English language requirement
International applicants will need a good command of English – the equivalent of an IELTS score of 6.5 or TOEFL score of 575 or more, or computer-based TOEFL 233, depending on the course you are studying.
