If you want a career in procurement and supply management in the private or public sector, this specialist Masters programme offers high-level strategic teaching in all areas of this growing field.

Our graduates can respond to the dynamic needs of 21st century business, using their specialist knowledge to co-ordinate and adapt purchasing and supply chain activities. You will develop a sound grasp of current and emerging theories associated with purchasing and supply chain management, with emphasis on relationships with other corporate functions and activities. During the course, you will expand your knowledge of concepts and practices, which you can apply to the benefit of your own organisation. By graduation, you will be able to pioneer purchasing and supply chain management and fulfil a strategic role in private and/or public sector organisations for a sustainable and rewarding career.

We are one of the top six UK universities in the field of purchasing and supply chain management. Our Division of Supply Network Management is also a Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) Centre of Excellence, a CIPS Level 7 Executive Diploma accredited Centre and the preferred supplier of Professional and Masters programmes for the Chartered Institute of Logistics (CILT). This course is accredited to both professional bodies and upon successful completion, you will gain either MCIPS (with three years’ work experience) or MCILT (with an average of 50% across the course). All full-time students will gain student membership of both CIPS and CILT.

How You Will Study
You can study on a full or part-time basis at the university’s Treforest campus with delivery commencing September 2011 and February 2012.

We offer part-time weekend delivery, where you come to the University for one weekend every six weeks. For those who want to tailor a programme that suits their needs, we can be flexible in terms of when, where and how often lectures take place. This is useful for organisations and associations. There is also the option to study certain modules online.

The teaching approach involves a blend of styles with an emphasis on an interactive environment.

How does this course make me employable?
Students graduating from this programme are able to demonstrate as managers, specialist knowledge to help them co-ordinate and adapt their purchasing and supply chain activities, responding to the dynamic needs of the 21st Century business environment.

Students will also be able to pioneer purchasing and supply chain management in this growing field, develop a strategic role in both private and / or public sector organisations building and transferring their specialist knowledge in a sustainable and rewarding career. Alongside this, our courses are accredited by the professional bodies.

Requirements

A minimum 2:2 Honours degree or equivalent qualification, or, in exceptional circumstances, three years’ or more significant management experience. Students who already hold the CIPS Graduate Diploma, or equivalent, will be eligible for exemptions and entry to a one-year Fast Track programme (weekends).

English language requirement
International applicants will need a good command of English – the equivalent of an IELTS score of 6.5 or TOEFL score of 575 or more, or computer-based TOEFL 233, depending on the course you are studying.
