In today’s business climate, it’s important you have the vision and skills to set yourself apart from the competition. This challenging and dynamic course will be of interest if you are in, or aspire to, a senior managerial position. You will learn how to integrate cutting-edge strategic research and practice across all key business areas to achieve business transformation, whether you work in a public or private sector organisation.
Our MBA is a selective MBA. It is designed for professionals who will make a strategic difference to the organisations in which they operate. The programme introduces innovative business theory within a practical context. During the MBA, you will develop key entrepreneurial leadership skills such as creativity, innovation, collaboration, problem solving and risk taking.
You will learn through taught sessions delivered by tutors who are leaders in their fields, as well as self-guided study, lectures, seminars, group work and exercises. The course also incorporates guest lectures, company visits and a study visit to a European location.
Contents
Course content is integrated with the intention of illustrating to the student how different business disciplines interact, and how this interaction can positively affect business strategy and success. This approach allows a wider, more holistic view of the business environment, rather than the more specific focus of more subject-specific, post-graduate qualifications.
There are nine modules available to study, each worth 20 credits. Modules of study include:

* Developing the Professional
* Business Functions and Processes
* Research Methods
* Globalisation of Logistics and Supply Chain
* Executive Management Project
* Strategic Analysis and Planning
* Strategic Financial Management
* Strategy as Practice and Leadership
Please note: If you would like to study the MBA part-time our Executive MBA offers a different diet of modules.
How You Will Study
You will spend about 500 hours in lectures, seminars or being individually supervised by a tutor. You will also complete reading and assignments, such as group projects, strategic analysis of organisations, deliver presentations, analyse case studies, and prepare marketing and business plans. We arrange visits to relevant organisations and you are encouraged to attend specialist guest lectures. You will be assessed through written assignments, examinations and/or project work. The MBA involves the completion of a dissertation. This is a detailed piece of research in an area of your choice.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

To apply for the MBA course, candidates will be required to have a minimum UK 2nd class honours degree or recognised international equivalent qualification and normally two years relevant work experience (minimum one year).
English language requirement
International applicants will need a good command of English – the equivalent of an IELTS score of 6.5 or TOEFL score of 575 or more, or computer-based TOEFL 233, depending on the course you are studying.
