This postgraduate animation course is unique in its content and direction, and takes account of the changing nature of animation and its related markets. Our strong commercial links challenge you to excel in the wider national and international marketplace, developing animated themes based around music, television, theatre and computer programming.
There are two distinct pathways in this postgraduate degree in animation. The first allows you to study the process and concepts of film making, whether you have a traditional background in animation and want to pursue personal development, or if you have been on a course related to animation and wish to transfer those skills. The second pathway is for animation students who want to develop groundbreaking themes and techniques with sponsors or animation companies.
The MA Animation requires you to develop a major project through the following modules:
* Pre-Production: How to expand and execute intellectual, practical and narrative skills
* Production: Develop your skills in planning and development methodology, and apply them to the design of animation sequences, or an animation-related project
* Post-Production: You will research, conceptualise and discover new methods and approaches to an animation in post-production, culminating in the completion of a major animation sequence, pilot or project
How You Will Study
The MA Animation is taught in a professional and friendly creative environment. All staff are industry trained and active in research and/or consultancy. Our well-equipped studios include state-of-the-art facilities with industry-standard software packages.
