If you are a healthcare professional and/or mentor who is keen to learn more about teaching and management techniques, this innovative MSc is ideal.

The course offers modules that apply to any healthcare setting, as well as work-based learning assignments that recognise local and individual needs that are defined by yourself, your employer and the University. Work-based tasks are completed and assessed under full University supervision.

What will you study?

Divided into three equal stages, the course consists of taught modules, work-based learning projects and the opportunity to explore a topic of particular interest in some depth. The course will enable you to:

* introduce teaching and learning strategies within clinical settings;
* competently research healthcare issues within their local environment;
* lead and manage healthcare practice;
* implement workplace learning;
* prepare for management of change;
* implement research advances to enrich evidence-based practice; and
* apply your own learning to projects within the workplace.

To complete the programme, you will be required to produce a paper suitable for publication in an academic journal. You will then write a 10,000-word reflective summary on your learning experience, and attend a viva examination (comprising a 30-minute presentation on one or two of the topics dealt with in the reflective summary and a question-and-answer session lasting 30 to 60 minutes).
