All over the world, both large and small organisations actively work round the clock to facilitate communication. This is fuelled not only by the insatiable demand for information which is used for an infinite number of purposes, but also by the fact that expertise and skills will always have to be communicated to target audiences. Whether it involves saving lives or supplying a new product, communication processes are keys to success. Accordingly, there is a growing demand for communication specialists and individuals with a broad view of the world of communication. More importantly, these individuals must be able to offer practical solutions to all manner of communication problems and dare to explore uncharted territory.

Corporate Communication:

An organisation's strategic communication policy targets the interaction between internal and external communication processes as well as the possibilities of guiding these processes. Strategic communication contributes to achieving the strategic objectives of commercial and not-for-profit organisations as well as of the government. Different types of strategic objectives can be distinguished for these types of organisation, varying from commercial objectives, promotion of interest and policy development to customer relationship management. To achieve these objectives, the organisation must stay in touch with the dynamic competitive environment, respond efficiently to changes in that environment and use the appropriate means of communication at the right time and in an effective manner.

New Media and Communication:

The specialisation offers you a broad overview of the interesting areas of new media and communication technology combined with the freedom of a flexible specialisation completion ('choice opportunities'). This will tailor the track to meet your individual needs and your present or future professional environment.

Marketing Communication:

Marketing communication aims to facilitate transactions between an organisation and its target groups. Another objective may be to foster positive brand perceptions among customers, using a set of marketing communication tools and their underlying theories, such as printed advertisements, television commercials, one-on-one sales and ICT.
