If you would like to acquire an in-depth understanding of disease processes but complement this with a knowledge of management studies, this course is ideal. You will study selected topics in biomedical science combined with the fundamentals of management theory, setting your scientific knowledge in a vocational context.

This combination is particularly useful if you are seeking to gain a management position within the biomedical sciences industries. If you are unable to commit to the full masters programme, intermediate qualifications (PgCert/PgDip) are available.

What will you study?

Core modules will familiarise you with the theoretical and practical aspects of molecular medicine used in research and hospital laboratories; the molecular basis of immunological mechanisms; and cellular mechanisms of disease, the physiological manifestations and implications to public health.

You will also learn about the principles and practice of laboratory management in biomedical science, and study the skills required for researching and communicating in biomedical science. The management studies modules give you an insight into how the business world operates and will introduce you to marketing concepts and people management skills.
