About the course
We offer three pathways to a masters level award in ergonomics, these are:

* MSc Health Ergonomics
* MSc Ergonomics (Human Factors)
* MSc Ergonomics and Organisational Behaviour

You'll be awarded the named MSc Ergonomics degree, PG Dip or PG Cert when you've passed the required number of modules.

If you're in employment, this course offers you the flexibility of online work based ergonomics training. However, if you want a career in ergonomics and aren't working full time, you can complete the MSc Ergonomics programme in one year.

During this course you'll develop the knowledge of theory and ergonomics methodologies and techniques that you need to effectively evaulate problems at work, propose practical, evidence based solutions and assess how effective those solutions are.

We'll take in to account your interests and workplace, and help you to apply what you've learned to your workplace.


Contents

Course length
Part time:

* PG Cert: 15 months
* PG Dip: two and a half years
* MSc: three or four years

There's some flexibility, so you can take up to six years to complete the course.

Full time:

One year.

Our MSc Ergonomics programme has been accredited by the Ergonomics Society as a Qualifying Course for Graduate Membership of the Ergonomics Society. Graduate Membership is the first professional grade of membership of the society and is an important step towards becoming a Registered Member, which you can do after three years' of Graduate Membership

During this course you'll develop excellent additional skills if you're currently contributing to the evaluation and design of tasks, jobs, products, environments and systems in order to make them compatible with the needs, abilities and limitations of people.

By successfully completing this course you'll be able to work as an ergonomist or in an associated discipline, perhaps related to your undergraduate degree. You may also be able to change career direction and can also form part of your continuing professional development if you're a health professional.

Requirements

You'll need an undergraduate degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant discipline. If you have key practical experience and work based training, you may also apply.

If you're applying for an postgraduate course, you will need at least:
* IELTS: 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.5 in all areas).
* TOEFL: 550 (paper based), 213 (computer based), or 80 (internet based)
* Pearson Test of Academic English: 51
* Cambridge Advanced Certificate: Pass
* London Tests of English: we accept level 5 for postgraduate courses
* International GCE O Level English Language: Grade C
* International GCSE English or English as a Second Language: Grade C.
