The effective management of people and its relationship to the strategy and direction of an organisation is a key factor in the business environment. As well as covering the core Human Resource Management elements such as resourcing, relations and performance, the MA Human Resource Management programme focuses on the areas where HRM can add competitive advantage to an organisation in the future.
Using theories and practical interventions you´ll explore, assess, evaluate and discuss strategic management and policy level issues. The varied approaches used in the business environment to achieve market position and create competitive advantage makes this an interesting, innovative and stimulating programme. At the same time, public sector initiatives are explored and discussed.
International students may benefit from the short Pre-MBA/Management Masters Foundation Programme before starting a full Masters degree. Successful students completing the Foundation Programme gain the Institute of Leadership and Management Introductory Diploma in Management.

The MA Human Resource Management/Development is studied over 12 months full time if you start in September, or over 14 months if you start in January. If you study part time it will take you three years. The MA Human Resource Management consists of three levels, the Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma and Master´s.
At Certificate stage you´ll gain an understanding of the requirements in key business functions. It then leads on to a range of modules that will enhance your understanding of managing and developing people. You´ll also take part in a management development residential activity as part of the Integrated Management module. This is held at a specialist country house management centre and encourages you to have fun while you are learning. It´s also designed to foster personal and professional relationships in a friendly and challenging environment.
At Diploma stage you´ll learn specific aspects relating to Human Resource Management. This can include developing your knowledge and understanding of equality and diversity, training, learning and development, employee relations and law and international HRM and performance management. You will also study the strategic management of resources.
At the final Master´s level you´ll study Strategic HRM and a further optional module from Organisational Knowledge or Corporate Responsibility. You´ll also undertake an Independent Study project in a Human Resource Management area of your choice. This brings together all of your learning and is usually expected to provide evidence of a link between HRM and the potential improved business performance.
Throughout the programme you will also undertake an audit of your learning and development through Continuous Professional Development.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
