Project Management is of fast growing importance to organisations because it deals effectively with the management of change. Both contemporary and project-based organisations are beginning to realise that the traditional form of management cannot deal with the dynamics and resulting chaos of the modern economic, social and business environment.
The Masters in Project Management is the result of a detailed review of both industry requirements and academic research. Developed and supported by a team of up to 25 specialists, both academic and industrial, it combines a unique blend of core project management and general management modules.
The Master's Degree in Project Management is globally accredited by the Project Management Institute, the world's largest project management organisation.
This programme is offered on a distance learning basis as well as block release on camus with attendance of 12 days per semester required. New cohorts are admitted in September each year.
Objectives
The aim of the Masters programme is to provide career-minded graduates and professionals with the opportunity:
* To understand the underlying theory and associated skills necessary for instituting change withing their organisations.
* To equip participants with the skills necessary for the successful management of the project driven organisations.
* To provide managers of business and industry with an educational opportunity of a very relevant management process.

Strategic Management, Project Management Procedures and Techniques (A) Project Management Procedures and Techniques (B), Business Economics.
Semester 3
Project Planning and Control (A), Project Planning and Control, (B) Human Resource Management, Accounting and Finance.
Semester 4
Quality Management, Procurment and Contracting, Decision Analysis and Projects, Thesis.
Careers
Successful candidates should progress to senior project management roles in either the public or private sector. Additionally project management is now seen as a core skill for executive management.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
Take testPrimary degree - first or second class honours, ordinary bachelor's degree holders with relevant experience and a satisfactory GMAT score will be considered. All candidates are required to have at least 4 years post qualification experience and have completed a satisfactory interview as part of the selection process.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
As all international students are required to possess sufficient language skills to attend lectures and sit examinations at the University of Limerick, students should be competent to communicate through the medium of English prior to their arrival. Students must have a minimum score of 550 (paper based) or 213(computer based) 80 (internet based) in TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or an IELTS (International English Language Testing System) score in the range of 6.5-7 and not less than 6.0 in any one component.
