This course can be taken full-time over one year or part-time over two years, both by day. The course will appeal to a wide range of people, including present and future language teachers and those interested in language studies, linguistics and communications.
Students take 90 credits as follows:
Part I
* AL6011 Aspects of Applied Linguistics (15 credits)
* AL6012 Aspects of Linguistic Theory (15 credits)
* AL6013 Areas of Specialisation in Applied Linguistics (15 credits)
Part II
* AL6010 Research Dissertation (45 credits)
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
Take testIn order to be admitted to the MA in Applied Linguistics a candidate must have as a minimum a BA Hons degree with 2nd Class Honours which includes a language subject, or another equivalent degree.
The Additional/Supplementary Statement Question MUST also be completed during the online application.
