The taught Masters programmes in the Department of Folklore and Ethnology are currently being re-structured for further development and expansion. The programme will not be commencing in the 2011/2012 academic year.
A newly expanded Masters in Irish Folklore programme is planned to commence in September 2012

Course Content
* History and Theory of Ethnology (10 credits)
* Ethnography and the Archive (10 credits)
* Writing Culture: The Irish Experience (10 credits)
* Minor Thesis (30 credits)
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

Graduates in Folklore with a minimum Second Class Honours degree or MA Qualifier in Folklore.
English Language Requirements
All applicants whose first language is not English are required to sit either an IELTS or TOEFL test.
English Language Requirements for Postgraduate Degree Programmes:
* College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences: IELTS 7.0
* College of Business and Law: Business IELTS 6.5 and Law IELTS 6.5
* College of Science, Engineering and Food Science: IELTS 6
* College of Medicine and Health: IELTS 6.5
