To equip you with a sound knowledge and understanding of a range of topics in child and adolescent health; to use this to underpin your existing practical experience with evidence-based expertise and develop an appreciation of the strengths and limitations of research evidence and, at Masters stage, its application; to enable students to enhance their careers in the field of child and adolescent mental health.

Teaching and assessment methods
Teaching is through specially prepared course materials and other directed reading. On-line delivery of course materials and a virtual learning environment support teaching. Each module is assessed separately and there is a final Master’s dissertation.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

The prerequisites to entry are; a second-class honours degree or equivalent professional qualification from a recognised university or college; or an equivalent academic or professional qualification that involves the care of, or working with children and adolescents (including doctors, nurses, primary mental health workers, teachers, social workers, therapists, youth workers and other voluntary sector staff).
