Location of University of Portsmouth

Project management has grown into more than just a specialist subject in the education
of managers, engineers and others. Its place as a mainstream management discipline
within many organisations is supported widely through academic, government and
both public and private sectors.

Students will gain:
o a broad understanding of project management including its current tools
and techniques
o increased ability to contribute to projects and business effectiveness through
leadership of projects
o an understanding of implementing change through projects

Contents

A period of personal study and the submission of a dissertation will be required for the award of MSc.

Assessment is by assignments and an exam. Credit is given for each subject passed. Credit may also be used on other courses or at other institutions, subject to their regulations.

The Research Methods unit provides an introduction to the research project. The dissertation will be a supervised investigation into a specific project management issue proposed by the student.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

A good honours degree or equivalent. Practising managers without an honours degree, who have relevant experience and the academic potential to achieve the award will also be considered.
