The course provides part-time postgraduate education in applied statistics for people including

* statisticians
* those employed in related areas such as planning, operational research, business intelligence, marketing
* those with a general interest in statistics who wish to develop their interest

You will have qualifications from other disciplines but want a postgraduate qualification in statistics to improve your career. Normally you need a degree or equivalent that contains some mathematics or statistics.

The course, delivered by distance learning, produces statisticians with a strong background in the ideas and uses of statistical methods. This is one of the UK´s largest postgraduate courses in statistics and is recognised as a leader in courses of its kind by many employers. Many of our students are sponsored by their employers.

The course broadens your career prospects in statistics and opens the possibility of registering for an MPhil or PhD research degree.

You study by distance learning with suitable tutorial support. This flexible style of learning makes it ideal to fit in with your working life and other commitments.

Requirements

Normally you need a degree including mathematics to at least a subsidiary level.

We give you special consideration if you have a teaching diploma or other degree, or relevant professional experience in mathematics or statistics. We may accept equivalent professional qualifications.
If English is not your first language you normally need an IELTS score of at least 6.5.

Minimal amount of work experience 6  years
