The MBA Media Management Programme is designed to train general managers in the media and communications business fields. The programme is also designed for generalists for whom training not only in media and communications specific areas, but also in the areas of strategic and management competence, as well as the opportunity to expand horizons through international networking are particularly relevant.

GoalThe goal of this MBA Programme is to offer comprehensive training for experienced professionals, managers and specialists in the fields of media and communications services as well as to ensure that their existing specialist knowledge is fully up-to-date with international standards. An essential element in achieving this is the opportunity for international networking.

Contents

The instructional content is closely tied to existing knowledge and offers the opportunity for qualification in the area of management for media and communications companies. The combination of modern theoretical and scientific knowledge together with a strong emphasis on practical experience ensures an integrated and networked approach to the management processes in the media industry and in communications companies.

StructureThe curriculum is modular and is furthermore designed as a part-time degree course of study. During the first 2 semesters, a total of 3 study blocks are held each semester (Thurs. to Sat.), each with a total of 25 hours. The remainder of the studies take place via eLearning as self-study (in preparation for and in follow-up to the study blocks).

During the third semester, 3 excursions, each supplemented by a short study block, are planned. The rest of the work performance takes place via eLearning as self-study.

During the fourth semester, emphasis is put on completing the master´s thesis. Guidance is offered predominately via the Internet. Individual meetings with the mentor are possible to discuss questions regarding the thesis.
