The course focuses on corporate social responsibility in the context of globalisation. You study corporate issues and the environmental and social impacts of international business. It is for professionals working in any area of business and graduates wanting a postgraduate qualification.

You gain a broad understanding of

* the drivers for international business
* the environmental and social impacts of global business
* how to manage these impacts
* how to communicate to stakeholders the efforts to address these complex issues

The course explores how to resolve the sometimes conflicting needs of different stakeholders, for example shareholders in the UK and suppliers in developing countries. These questions create lively debate and there are rarely straightforward answers.

You cover corporate social responsibility issues including

* corporate strategy
* legislative background including UK and EU legislation, international agreements and obligations
* global responsibility and the socioeconomic impacts of globalisation such as employment, empowerment, poverty and inequality
* environmental impact including sustainable development, energy and resources, and corporate ecological footprint

If you are in employment, you can develop work-based projects that form part of your assessment. Where possible, you use real case studies and examples. Project work allows you to focus on your areas of interest.

This course combines the University´s experience and expertise in business and corporate governance and environmental management.
