This MA by thesis is for those who have already completed a postgraduate diploma in a relevant subject and wish to develop their skills in research analysis, and policy development and implementation.

You choose the topic of your thesis probably related to your professional and personal interests. We provide you with support throughout the year.

This includes

* a taught module in applied research methods, if you have not already studied the subject
* supervision from a committed teaching team with experience of applied policy research, professional practice and consultancy.

This course provides professional development focused around the theme of your thesis plus possible research opportunities at MPhil or PhD level. People have accelerated their career progression after graduating and taken up senior positions in borough councils locally in Rotherham, Barnsley, Wakefield and Sheffield and further afield in London and throughout the UK.

Assessment

By submission of thesis of 15,000 words

IELTS

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

Requirements

Ideally you need a relevant postgraduate diploma with a mark of 60 per cent or over. If you have completed a postgraduate module of study in research methods in housing or a related field you will not have to study the research design project module.

If your first language is not English you must have one of the following

* IELTS score of 6.5
* TOEFL score of 550
* Cambridge Advanced English (level 4)
* recognised equivalent qualification

Minimal amount of work experience 6  years
