Location of Sheffield Hallam University

This course is for those who have recently left school or college, and mature students who may have been in work for a number of years. You may currently work in the public, private or voluntary sector.

The course is practice-oriented with a strong academic and theoretical basis. You gain a thorough foundation in spatial planning and the opportunity to develop a specialist area. You also develop the communication, strategic thinking and analytical skills needed to work at a professional level.

You study and get the chance to specialise in areas of planning including

You are encouraged to draw on your work experience in completing assignments. The course involves a large amount of project and practice-oriented work, including study visits outside Sheffield.

Assessment

We assess you on various professional practice reports and case studies. There are work-based modules and you complete a piece of consultancy work with an employer.

IELTS

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

Requirements

Normally GCSE mathematics and English at grade C or above plus one of the following

* 230 tariff points from at least two GCE/VCE A levels. AS levels and key skills may count towards these points.
* A levels - 16 points from two or more A levels
* BTEC - overall pass with six merits at level 3
* GNVQ - advanced with merit plus a minimum of two additional subjects
* Irish Leaving Certificate - standard university entrance requirements
* Scottish Higher - standard university entrance requirements
* Access - pass
* other equivalent qualifications, foundation course or work experience

If English is not your first language you need an IELTS score of at least 6.0.
