This part-time course is suitable for people working in rehabilitation, human resources, employment and disability services. It focuses on vocational rehabilitation for people employed in agencies and services who help individuals, including those with disabilities, to gain or retain employment.
You examine the current political and sociological context of employment for people with disabilities and the barriers they face. You also develop practical skills and interventions to improve your current practice. Core and optional modules allow you to develop a programme of study to meet your personal and professional needs.
You can take any module individually for continuing professional development. Alternatively, you can work towards a named award by taking the appropriate number of credits on a specified route. This may be a postgraduate certificate, a postgraduate diploma or a masters degree.
This course improves your ability to learn and collaborate effectively in practice, to provide a co-ordinated service that meets the identified employment needs of individuals.
It also enables you to use and undertake research to develop your knowledge and functional and intellectual capacity in this specialist area.

Assessment
The type of assessment varies from module to module. However most of it will be by a variety of coursework assignments and case studies related to your area of work.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

If you have other qualifications and are currently working in an area relevant to vocational rehabilitation, we will also consider you. Entry is normally on to one of the postgraduate certificate courses.
If English is not your first language you need an IELTS score of 6.5 or above.
