This programme is an innovative development in education and training for those who wish to increase their knowledge and skills in the management of contemporary issues in workplace health. Comprehensive information for prospective students can be found on the MSc in Workplace Health website.
The MSc in Workplace Health is provided by the Institute of Work, Health and Organisations at The University of Nottingham, a World Health Organisation Collaborating Centre for Occupational Health and internationally renowned centre of excellence in research and postgraduate education. The course is directed by Dr Jonathan Houdmont.

This pioneering programme was developed in consultation with over 30 leading national experts in workplace health and almost 1,700 members of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health to pinpoint emerging priorities in workplace health and to identify practitioner education and training needs. A Programme Advisory Board is consulted regularly to inform future curriculum developments, ensuring that the course remains cutting-edge and continues to meet practitioner needs.
The Workplace Health programme adopts a blended learning format that combines campus-based intensive workshops with e-learning materials. E-learning has been shown to be a particularly suitable learning medium for practitioners to pursue professional development.

The final three modules listed above are specific to the MSc. The module in Research and Evaluation Methods will introduce you to a range of data collection and analysis methods, and aims to equip you with the knowledge and skills required for health surveillance and the identification of emerging risks, as well as the design, implementation and evaluation of organisational interventions.
The Applied Research Project module will give you the opportunity to conduct either an extended literature review or an applied piece of organisational research on the work-related health issue of your choice.
Course Structure
The MSc in Workplace Health is taught on a part-time basis over two years.
The programme is delivered via a blend of e-learning and campus based workshops:
* Intensive three-day workshops: including lectures, structured discussions and guest presentations by leading national experts.
* E-learning: online learning materials include streaming video, PowerPoint, individual and group activities presented within a fully integrated virtual learning environment.
If you do not wish to commit to an MSc at the outset, you may register for the Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma in Workplace Health and later transfer to the MSc.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
Take testEntry requirements:
* Undergraduate honours degree (2ii or higher) or international equivalent or a NEBOSH diploma (Level 6). Candidates with other qualifications may be considered on an individual basis (see below).
Other requirements:
* i) Relevant professional work experience involving responsibility (broadly defined) for the management of workplace health and/or safety ii) Access to a personal computer with high-speed internet access. Applicants holding an ordinary (non-honours) degree, third class honours degree, or a NEBOSH Level 4 certificate may be offered a place on the Postgraduate Certificate (PG. Cert.) in Workplace Health if they have substantial relevant work experience, subject to approval by a Faculty Vice Dean.
IELTS: * 6.5 (with no less than 6 for each element)
TOEFL paper based: * 573 with 4.5 in the Test of Written English
TOEFL IBT: * 88 with no less than 19 in any element
