Similar to our MSc Advanced Practice course, this route allows you to apply advanced practice to the specialisation of nursing.
For a qualified nurse currently working in the profession, this part-time course provides the opportunity to take the next step to an advanced career role. You'll gain an in depth understanding of the theoretical knowledge and practical skills you need to practice at an advanced level, as well as the ability to critically appraise relevant health and social policy. You'll also acquire the knowledge and skills you need to address ethical and professional issues.
As a graduate, you'll enjoy increased employment opportunities in the nursing profession.
Skills
You'll develop a combination of theoretical and practical skills in this course, including critical thinking when considering the issues associated with practice, knowledge and application of research methods and their application, and efficient approaches to time management, prioritisation and workload planning. You will also learn to recognise and manage the personal stresses of the profession, and become proficient in the use of the latest technologies in the practice of your role.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

An Honours Degree or equivalent, a relevant professional qualification and a minimum of two years experience.
Applicants who do not have the academic requirements may gain entry to the course by studying one of the modules as a stand alone module. On successful completion of the module, students then have evidence of their ability to study at M level and will transfer to the full course. The stand alone module will count towards the final degree.
English Language Requirements
If English is not your first language, you´ll need to provide evidence that you can read, write, speak and understand English satisfactorily. For most courses, in additional to satisfying the standard entry requirements, we normally require international students (check) to demonstrate their English ability through an English language test, usually IELTS (International English Language Testing System), or TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language).
