A Masters degree in Enterprise Web Development brings together both the business and online worlds. You may be aiming to specialise in the field of web design or business systems analysis, or perhaps looking to apply your new skill in the area of your original degree or work experience. Either way, you'll have an interest - but not a degree - in computers and the Internet and their potential for business development.
This course will familiarise you with the web and database technology needed to develop and deliver e-Business, to design effective and engaging interfaces, and to meet the needs of both the users and the enterprise. A blend of theory and practice, its aim is to develop your abilities as in the areas of data structures and human interfaces alike.
You'll learn to design and construct web sites, and explore their applications and impact as they relate to e-business. More than a technical course, it offers the strategies, principles and systematic know-how that you need to keep abreast of continuing innovations in this rapidly developing industry.
You'll leave equipped with the skills needed to plan and create effective and efficient Internet sites, and the potential for real career advancement. Where you take those skills is up to you: into the world of web systems development, or another branch of your current field, such as research, education or training.
Subjects are:
* an introduction to the workings of computers,
* operating systems, networks, and databases;
* web system design and software methods of creating them;
* theory of achieving a good design and user experience;
* theories of system development and project management;
* the impact of web systems on business.
In addition, you will gain experience of professional techniques using industry standard tools and methods to develop interactive e-Business. A group development project integrates the knowledge you have gained from the other modules.
Finally, the MSc project integrates research skills with your knowledge and understanding in the completion of a substantial, self-directed piece of individual work.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
