This course offers a well balanced blend of theory and practice which prepares you for work as a project manager in the construction industry. Project managers are responsible for controlling and coordinating the development process from concept through to construction and are in demand across a number of industries.
You will learn how to manage finances, risk, and construction as well as gain a solid foundation in procurement strategy. The course also covers technological theory and practice linked heavily to industry so you will graduate ready to progress immediately into a role in the industry.
You will gain an industry recognised qualification this course is accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).
Skills

This course is studied full-time over one year. You will learn by a variety of teaching methods including lectures, tutorials, seminars, laboratory sessions and through independent study. The course is split up into three trimesters.
Trimester 1
Strategic Management (Built Environment & Engineering), Project Management, Project Appraisal & Finance. Successful completion of Trimester 1 modules will qualify you for a Postgraduate Certificate.
Trimester 2
You will study modules in Production Management, Procurement Strategy, Project Risk Management. Successful completion of Trimester 2 modules will qualify you for a Postgraduate Diploma.
Trimester 3
MSc dissertation
Students of this course are eligible for the Best Timber-related dissertation prize.
