Digital Creativity has become paramount in our society. It is prevalent and influences all aspects of life and all types of design including industrial, interior, product and graphical. It impacts on all industrial and society sectors including aerospace, construction, energy, environment, fashion, manufacturing, transportation, and all types of disciplines from bio science and human health to civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering. The digital medium is growing in popularity and effect, but so too is the influence and impact of creativity. Creativity defines our future world and is a distinguisher in wealth creation and sustainability.
The course provides fundamental knowledge and understanding of key features of creativity within a digital medium. On completion, graduates will be equipped with state-of-the-art concepts, techniques, skills and knowledge to utilise, develop and apply new digital technologies to create digital concepts, environments or worlds; enabling them to make significant contributions to wealth generation in any sector. The course structure and content are based on digital society needs of 21st century creative organizations.
It has a balance between understanding creative processes and techniques with digital methods and approaches to support and realise those processes. Core elements of the course combine focus on the digital medium for supporting creativity. Optional classes allow students to customize the course to suit their own particular career aspirations. Throughout the course, there is an emphasis on integration, enhanced by group assignments, team projects, and industrial visits.
The course is aimed at developing high-calibre master’s graduates with the skills and knowledge to utilise new digital technologies in the creative process. The course would appeal to a wide range of disciplines including architecture, arts, computer science, design, media and engineering. Graduates may expect careers in a wide variety of sectors and disciplines including advertising, animation, architectural design, computer graphics, design, film, industrial design, marketing, media, multi-media development, virtual reality, and web development among others.
Who is the Course aimed at?
* Graduates from relevant engineering, science and digital media technology courses who wish to study further the digital technology and their applications in their chosen career;
* Staff working in digital media, digital technology development and production who wish to enhance their theoretical grounding as well as gain better understanding of techniques, methodologies, concepts, models and tools used in creating digital products and services.
Course Structure and Contents
The course is designed to provide high-calibre graduates with an in-depth understanding of digital modelling, techniques to make full use of digital technologies in maximising the benefits to an intended task and customers, digital media and digital technologies and their applications in a chosen field.
The course programme comprises the following compulsory modules:

Entry Requirements
First- or second-class Honours degree from a UK university (or equivalent qualification) in relevant discipline. Candidates with lesser qualifications who have appropriate professional or industrial experience may also be eligible.
In addition to academic qualifications, you must also be able to show that you have a sufficient grasp of English. If English is not your first language you will need to provide evidence of your proficiency before you can begin the course, and you are strongly advised to take the IELTS or the TOEFL test examination. The University's general entry requirements are IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 600 (including the Test of Written English), TOEFL 250 (computer based test) and TOEFL 100 (internet based test).
