MSc Human Resource Management at Winchester is offered as a top-up to the Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). The programme is designed to demonstrate advanced understanding of the human side of management.
Students extend their study obtained from the Professional Development Programme of The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) by undertaking a `Research Methods´ taught module and a dissertation on a Human Resource Management topic of their choice. Upon successful completion, students are awarded the MSc Human Resource Management.
Students extend their study obtained from the Professional Development Programme of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) by undertaking the Research Methods in Business taught module, one further taught module and a dissertation on a Human Resource management topic of their choice. Upon successful completion, students are awarded the MSc Human Resource Management.
Modules
• Research Methods in Business – a taught module requiring 36 hours of class contact. This must be successfully completed before students can progress to the dissertation stage
• One further taught module: Leadership in Organisations is recommended
Assessment
Methods of assessment include business reports, essays, presentations, critical evaluations and research-based projects.
DissertationThe dissertation can be on a topic of the student’s choice within the realms of human resource management. For students joining the programme at the beginning of Semester 2 the dissertation module commences at the beginning of Semester 2 following the year of entry.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
