This MA programme is designed to introduce students to the great diversity of post-1900 literature, literary criticism and cultural theory, as well as to the manifold interrelations between these areas of creative and scholarly practice and enquiry. The programme aims to produce students who have the knowledge, skills and attributes to undertake research in the diverse area of literatures and cultural theories since 1900. Graduates holding a first degree in English or a related subject will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the discipline and to specialise according to their anticipated career progression. On completion of the programme students will be able to demonstrate a sound, historically informed knowledge of the great diversity of post-1900 literatures and cultural theories, as well as the interrelations between the two.
