This programme is designed to prepare students for a research career, by providing an in-depth theoretical understanding, factual knowledge base and practical experience of key research paradigms, research designs and statistical techniques used in Psychology, and more broadly, in the Social Sciences.
It is recognised by the ESRC as providing the one-year, masters-level postgraduate training which constitutes the first year of the ESRC 1+3 postgraduate studentships for full-time, part-time and CASE students. It will also be applicable to professionals in the social or health services, or in marketing and cognate disciplines, whose career development demands a research component.
