The MA in Philosophy programme offers in-depth training and discussion in a range of topics in analytical philosophy and (if desired) political philosophy.

Our MA programme is ideal for those who obtained their undergraduate degree in a discipline other than Philosophy (Philosophy graduates should apply for the MRes) and is suitable both for those who intend to study for a PhD afterwards, and for those who simply want to spend an extra year widening their knowledge of philosophy and researching a particular topic in depth before going on to pursue a career outside academia.

Course aimsThe course aims to provide a `conversion' course for non-philosophers, either to allow them to pursue further postgraduate study in philosophy, or simply to provide a more in depth study of aspects of philosophy that may have arisen in their previous study.
