Location of The University of Manchester

There has been a long tradition of specialising in the study of political theory at Manchester. Between them, those teaching on this pathway cover a wide variety of fields of interest: from the major debates in contemporary political philosophy (around topics of rights, justice and political morality) to an emphasis on those traditions of European political thought - from the Enlightenment to the Frankfurt School - which have shaped the self-understanding of modernity.

* 2 Compulsory Core courses; Normative Analysis and Moral reasoning and Political Theory - Research Training Seminar
* Further options - you choose one module from a range of core course units in political theory with further options available from the graduate programme of the Centre for Philosophy

Requirements

Academic entry qualification:

2:1 (or overseas equivalent) in a Social Science subject for MA entry.

English language requirements:

Applicants whose first language is not English must attain one of the following:

* IELTS - Overall 7, writing score 7
* TOEFL - Overall 623, TWE 5 (PBT)
* TOEFL - Overall 263, TWE 5 (CBT). This test is no longer available but results less than 2 years old can be submitted.
* TOEFL - Overall 100, with 25 in each of the 4 sections (IBT)

Language Proficiency

Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): Grade C (Score: 60)
